Recently, I received a newsletter from Tesla Rental OKC suggesting an itinerary for a day trip from OKC to Medicine Park, OK. The location is near the Wichita Mountains, about a 90-minute drive from OKC. The newsletter included the full itinerary, so I rented a Tesla Model S for two days from Tesla Rentals OKC and set off!

In less than two hours, I arrived in Medicine Park, a truly charming and picturesque spot along Medicine Creek. It’s definitely a tourist destination for families, couples, singles, and, judging by the number of parked Harley Davidson motorcycles, a popular spot for bikers too.
I took a walk along Medicine Creek, which offers a delightful scenic trail lined with the unique Bird Houses Cottages, designed to resemble birdhouses.

At this time of year, the riverside beach is bustling with swimmers, especially families with children, cooling off in the river or at Bath Lake.
The main street is filled with shops selling all kinds of crafts and souvenirs, as well as bars, cafés, and restaurants. It’s a fantastic place!
For overnight stays or vacations, there are plenty of cottages and bed-and-breakfast options available. I stayed at the Plantation Inn, the only motel in town, recently renovated, simple but comfortable.

The next morning, after a necessary charge in Lawton, I toured Lake Lawtonka via Hwy 58 and then continued on Hwy 49 to The Holy City of the Wichitas. It was a unique discovery! The Holy City of the Wichitas is said to be a replica of Jerusalem and hosts North America’s longest-running uninterrupted Easter pageant, "The Prince of Peace." Since 1925, the pageant has kept alive the true story of the birth, life, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

From Hwy 49, I took the road to Mount Scott, located in the Wichita Wildlife Refuge. The drive to the summit is convenient if you don’t want to hike. Mount Scott offers one of the most stunning 360-degree views of the Wichita Wildlife Refuge, the lakes, and the surrounding area. It’s absolutely worth a visit!
Thanks to Tesla Rental OKC for the suggestion—it was a truly fantastic trip! 😊
